How to Join

Membership is open to any consultant on the GMC specialist register or expecting to finish their training and be included in the next six months. We also accept dentists on the GDC register who undertake relevant work. Currently we have a wide range of surgical specialties joining our original anaesthetists and we hope to represent all specialties.

You can join as a sole trader (an individual self employed consultant) or as a limited company. If you are established you can continue to use your current billing arrangements and continue with any rooms or secretaries. If you are Fee Assured and are happy to continue you are free to do so.

Please email board@theconsultantspartnership.com with your name and GMC or GDC number. Please tell us if you are a trainee or new consultant so we can offer tailored support. We will check your registration and then email you a form to sign which asks you to undertake to keep our agreement confidential. The agreement is the core of the LLP and took a lot of resources. Members do not want it simply copied.

When we receive your form we will admit you to our data room where you can see (but not copy) the agreement as well as further details about TCP. You are welcome to involve your solicitor, accountant or other advisors.

You will then be asked to sign the agreement to become a member. There is an initial joining fee which will increase over time because those members who join later are joining an established organisation but the fee for newly appointed consultants and those starting in private practice currently is £500 pounds which is tax deductable. We finally ask for a direct debit to pay the monthly fee of £40 pounds which covers fee collection, your tax return in the LLP to HMRC, and the other benefits listed above.

We look forward to welcoming you to the only national LLP for private practice.
